Head of Data & Analytics to lead the Data Analytics team across SEA

Position Overview:

The Head of Data Analytics will lead the data analysis team, providing strategic insights to drive company growth and enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in analyzing food and beverage (F&B) operations and online channels, focusing on improving business performance in the Southeast Asia region. This role demands strong leadership capabilities, team management experience, and proficiency in Mandarin for effective stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis and Insights:

  • Analyze F&B operations, including sales, inventory, and customer behavior, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assess online channels (O2O and direct-to-customer) to optimize performance and boost customer engagement.
  • Develop and implement data-driven strategies to enhance business operations and achieve company goals.

Team Management:

  • Lead and manage a team of data analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, promoting continuous learning and improvement.
  • Set clear goals and performance metrics for the team, regularly reviewing progress to ensure targets are met.

Regional Expertise:

  • Utilize extensive knowledge of the Southeast Asia market to provide regional insights and recommendations.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes in the region to inform business decisions.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to align data analysis efforts with local business needs.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Communicate complex data insights and analysis results to senior management and other stakeholders clearly and concisely.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and finance, to support data-driven decision-making.

Technology and Tools:

  • Use advanced data analysis tools and techniques to extract meaningful insights from large datasets.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in data analysis and business intelligence.
  • Implement best practices for data management, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in data analysis, focusing on F&B operations and online channels (O2O and direct-to-customer).
  • Proven experience in the Southeast Asia region, with a deep understanding of regional market dynamics and consumer behavior.
  • Strong team management skills, with a track record of leading and developing high-performing data analysis teams.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is required to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
  • Industry experience in e-commerce, F&B, or internet sectors is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, or similar.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to derive actionable insights from complex data.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
