Security Operations Head (Remote)

We are conducting a confidential executive search on behalf of a fast-growing, globally distributed organization in the fintech sector. This company is seeking a Security Operations Lead to oversee and scale security operations across multiple regions. This is a critical leadership role offering strategic oversight, team management, and direct involvement in securing modern cloud-native environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a regional security operations function across multiple locations, ensuring alignment with global security standards and best practices.
• Manage and mentor a distributed team of 3–5 security professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and continuous improvement.
• Oversee security operations in a Kubernetes, MacOS, and AWS ecosystem, identifying risks and implementing robust defense strategies.
• Collaborate with engineering, IT, compliance, and executive teams to implement scalable and effective security policies and incident response plans.
• Drive the development and maintenance of security runbooks, playbooks, and standard operating procedures for regional operations.
• Act as a key point of contact during security incidents within your region, ensuring prompt resolution and post-incident analysis.
• Monitor threat intelligence and regulatory changes, adjusting strategies as needed to meet evolving requirements.

Must-Have Requirements:

• More than 10 years of experience in SOC operations management in multinational setup
• Proven experience in leading security operations teams (3–5 members) with a track record of success.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, MacOS environments, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Demonstrated ability to manage regional or multi-location security operations, ideally across EMEA and/or APAC.
• Comfortable working in a fully remote and distributed team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to operate autonomously and collaboratively across time zones.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
• Experience working in high-growth tech or fintech companies.
• Familiarity with automation tools and DevSecOps practices.
